EQ derives its name from Quintana del Pidio, Silos' home town, so this is The Kid From Quintana. Up front meat/earth, with a rosehip lift; it's full soft and round through the mid-part and a nice sourberry close. Simple, delicious, correct and very, very good value for this appellation. |

Tobacco and anise add complexity to earthy dark cherry – pure Ribera del Duero fruit with a brambly boysenberry and cassis lift. Mineral and savoury, masculine but in no way big, there’s only mid-level glycerol and fine, long, very mature tannins. A wonderful vintage. |

Blueberry, tobacco and hung beef - it's gotta be Ribera! Well, good Ribera anyway ...With a pronouncedearthiness, '08's cool and precise in line, low in fructose, elegant and fine. Not a wine of bigness, it's a lovely, pure wine of very high quality and beautifully composed. Previous releases have been labelled ‘Crianza’. |

Cherry clafoutis and glorious Ribera dirt smells … dang these Silos cats are cool! Spicy-sweet-sour berry thrills with tobacco, flowers, dirt, sky and more, and an aching thread of volatility gives the rosey-nose arc and reach. Such things repeat in a palate which is spare, suggestive, juicy and crisp, and unbelievably good. Redolent with hope in the face of experience and beautifully composed. |

Fancy, fine and beautifully correct wine, neither big nor over-powering as such. Where Torresilo is floral and lush, Flor is more dark and masculine, linear and reserved-sort of the Burgundy v. Bordeaux argument about Tempranillo's natural style in a sister-brother face-off! |
